Angkor Resources Corp. has identified an additional gold target named CZ Gold on the west side of its Canada Wall prospect within the Andong Meas exploration license in Ratanakiri Province, Cambodia. The discovery comes as the company reviews all prospects during the rainy season from June to November, with particular attention given to gold prospects amid rising gold prices over the past year.

The CZ Gold target was identified based on physical workings from a tunnel on the west side of a river running through the license area. Exploration teams mapped a quartz stockwork with an apparent thickness of 30 metres in the tunnel, which tends to have a northwest strike. The target area includes multiple shallow trenches and one 47-metre-long tunnel excavated by artisanal miners, located on a steep slope where miners drove a raise to surface following several veins.

Dennis Ouellette, VP Exploration, described historical work from 2012 when three holes were drilled with collars about 70 metres apart. "The first hole was collared immediately outside the adit and was drilled in the same direction as the tunnel," Ouellette explained. "None of the holes intersected the quartz stockwork zone but they did core immediately into a granite bereft of mafic minerals and containing abundant miarolytic cavities. The granite is likely an alaskite type granite."

Ouellette noted that while alaskite and "bucky" quartz (a coarsely crystallized, non-laminating quartz) do not host gold deposits per se, they are frequently found in close proximity to gold deposits. This geological context suggests potential mineralization nearby, making the CZ Gold prospect worthy of further investigation.

The company plans to conduct a surface trenching and sampling program in the first quarter of 2026 to determine the setting and orientation of the quartz stockwork. Once established, a follow-up diamond drill program can be planned to test the gold potential more thoroughly. This systematic approach reflects standard mineral exploration practices aimed at methodically assessing mineral prospects.

Angkor Resources also addressed geopolitical concerns affecting its operations in Cambodia. The company acknowledged a restart in the border conflict between Thailand and Cambodia in the northwest quadrant of the country, resulting in evacuations of near-border communities and school closures. While the company's oil project Block VIII is in the far south of Cambodia and the Andong Meas mineral license is far to the east of the conflict, management is carefully monitoring the Andong Bor license and has suspended work there for safety reasons. "Safety is imperative for staff and personnel so any activities in the northwest are on hold until further notice," the company stated.

The identification of the CZ Gold prospect represents continued exploration activity in Cambodia's mineral sector, which has seen increasing interest from international mining companies. Cambodia's geological potential, particularly for gold and copper, has attracted exploration investment despite challenges related to infrastructure and regulatory frameworks.
