10th Annual HWPL World Peace Summit to Focus on Regional Collaboration

The 10th Anniversary of the HWPL World Peace Summit will be celebrated on September 18, 2024, in South Korea and simultaneously in 122 countries. This milestone event, themed 'Creating World Peace Community Through Regional Collaboration,' commemorates a decade-long commitment to global peace and strategizes future efforts to promote harmony worldwide.

Since its inception in 2014, the Heavenly Culture, World Peace, and Restoration of Light (HWPL) has brought together over a thousand leaders from politics, religion, women's groups, youth organizations, and the media. Participants from around 140 countries attended the inaugural summit in Seoul, focusing on conflict resolution, religious harmony, and legal instruments for lasting peace.

This year's summit aims to review the accomplishments since 2014 and discuss future plans for peace. The event will gather regional talents and establish networks essential for tailored peace strategies, addressing local peace threats through various sessions held in each participating country.

With the slogan 'Let's have everyone become a messenger of peace,' HWPL advocates for individual responsibility in promoting peace at all levels. Messages of peace from people around the world will be collected and revealed at the event, symbolizing a unified desire for global harmony.

HWPL has committed to addressing global challenges such as military tensions, economic disputes, climate change, and cyber security threats through enhanced regional cooperation and collective action. The organization aims to establish a robust peace governance framework, connecting international organizations, governments, and civil societies.

Reflecting on the summit's mission, HWPL Chairman Lee Man-hee emphasized the importance of leaving a legacy of peace for future generations. He stated, 'Why should the lives of young people be sacrificed in war? What is politics, and for whom is it for? When war breaks out, it is young people who are sacrificed. Peace cannot be achieved through words alone. If peace had won in this world, there would have been no regrettable deaths. We must leave peace as a legacy to the global community where our descendants will live.'
