The Ron Sturgeon Collection has recently welcomed a 1929 Ford Model A Speedster Boattail, a vehicle that encapsulates the essence of early American automotive innovation and style. This custom speedster, with its 201ci inline-four engine and three-speed manual transmission, has been enhanced with period-correct upgrades like a Stromberg 94 carburetor and Ansen intake manifold, offering a glimpse into the golden age of motoring.
Adorned in a classic white and green paint scheme, the car boasts distinctive features such as red 21″ wire-spoke wheels, a boattail rear, and custom interior details including burgundy bucket seats and an alligator-style upholstered dash. These elements not only reflect the car's historical roots but also showcase the artistry involved in its restoration.
Ron Sturgeon, the founder of the DFW Car & Toy Museum, remarked on the car's unique blend of creativity and craftsmanship, emphasizing its ability to evoke joy and admiration. This acquisition underscores the importance of preserving such artifacts of automotive history, serving as a testament to the ingenuity and spirit of an era that continues to inspire enthusiasts and collectors alike.
