The DFW Car & Toy Museum has recently added a 1968 Datsun 2000 Roadster to its Ron Sturgeon Collection, showcasing the vehicle's mint green finish and historical significance in the Japanese sports car industry. This model, equipped with a 2.0-liter U20 inline-four engine and a five-speed manual gearbox, represents the analog driving experience cherished by enthusiasts.
Restoration efforts have preserved the Roadster's interior with black reupholstered seats, new carpeting, and period-correct features like a factory push-button radio and analog clock. The exterior's mint green color and the inclusion of a Momo Veloce steering wheel with a Datsun horn button emphasize the car's vintage appeal.
Ron Sturgeon, the museum's founder, remarks on the Roadster's role in Japan's sports car legacy, noting its perfect fit within the collection. The DFW Car & Toy Museum, located in Fort Worth, TX, offers free admission to view this and over 200 other collector cars, alongside 3,000 vintage toys, celebrating automotive design and nostalgia.
