The 36th Hong Kong Book Fair, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will take place from July 15 to 21, 2026, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Running concurrently with the Hong Kong Sports and Leisure Expo and the World of Snacks, the three fairs are expected to bring together more than 770 exhibitors from nearly 30 countries and regions, offering a one-stop destination for culture, sports, and leisure experiences.
This year's Book Fair adopts 'Cultural Legacy | Joyful Journeys' as its annual theme, featuring over 600 cultural events at the fairground and across the city. Jenny Koo, HKTDC Deputy Executive Director, said the theme aims to inspire readers to explore cultural heritage and innovation through reading and travel.
Highlights include the 'World of Art & Culture' zone, which will feature the 'World in Words, A Voyage of the Heart' exhibition with interactive setups and over 200 books from around the world. The fair also hosts eight seminar series, including the Renowned Writers Seminar with authors such as Liu Zhenyun, Su Tong, and Bi Feiyu, and the English and International Books Seminar featuring British poet Luke Kennard and Joe Ngai from McKinsey & Company.
For the first time, the ASEAN Literary Festival will be introduced under the English and International Books Seminar Series, with authors Eka Kurniawan and Clarissa Goenawan. Aerospace experts, including Professor Wu Bo from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, will discuss national space missions.
The Sports and Leisure Expo will feature activities like the 'Fit & Fearless Challenge' and an indoor animal interaction space by My Mini Zoo. The World of Snacks will showcase over 1,300 snacks from nearly 30 countries, including innovative products like freeze-dried candy and high-protein crisps.
A single ticket grants access to all three events, with adult tickets priced at HK$30. Special promotions include morning admission tickets for HK$10 and a '60 Book Fair Super Passes' giveaway to celebrate HKTDC's 60th anniversary. For more details, visit the Hong Kong Book Fair website.
