45Drives, a leader in open-source data storage and compute, has announced the full program for its fourth annual Creator Summit, scheduled for October 20-22 in downtown Wilmington, North Carolina. The event will unite independent technology creators, enterprise infrastructure leaders, open-source experts, AI researchers, academics, and film and VFX professionals to discuss the future of artificial intelligence, data ownership, and computing infrastructure.
The 2026 Creator Summit features two distinct tracks: Enterprise and Creative. The Enterprise track will focus on private and on-premises AI, high-performance data systems, data sovereignty, cybersecurity, and open-source infrastructure. The Creative track will examine how AI is transforming production, editing, design, and storytelling workflows. According to Dr. Doug Milburn, President of 45Drives, “This is the strongest program we’ve assembled because it reflects how technology is actually moving. Enterprise teams are bringing AI closer to their data, creators are building more of their workflows on infrastructure they control, and open-source communities are influencing both.”
The speaker lineup includes prominent figures such as Tom Lawrence of Lawrence Systems, Wendell Wilson of Level1Techs, Jeff Geerling, Ed Rawlings of Unraid, Brett Kelly of 45Drives, and many others from companies like JR Automation, Arista Networks, and Niche VFX. The summit will also feature a remote session from Musora Media and a cross-disciplinary discussion with Harvard educator Alexander Puutio and PhillComm Global CEO Jon Lindsay Phillips on enterprise AI adoption.
The event kicks off on Tuesday, October 20, at The Skyline Center with parallel sessions, followed by an invite-only Unraid event at Jengo’s Playhouse featuring a livestream and demonstrations of the 45HomeLab x Unraid Signature Series. Wednesday’s programming includes sessions from Cass County, Klara, and a live 45Flow Stunt. The final day, Thursday, October 22, at Union Station Auditorium, will feature the AI High Speed Stunt and an Enterprise AI Pulse panel examining private AI, data sovereignty, and workforce impact. A panelist livestream and closing afterparty will conclude the summit.
Sponsors include Seagate, Unraid, Michael Best, and Cintas. The event highlights how enterprise IT teams, open-source engineers, creators, and academics increasingly shape one another. As AI workloads scale, the decisions organizations make about data control and infrastructure will have far-reaching implications for industries and individuals alike. Creator Summit offers a platform for these groups to collaborate and share actionable insights.
