Award-winning cinematographer Yukiko Cho has been selected as Director of Photography for the upcoming science fiction feature film 'Whispers of Water', directed by Shahan Rao. The film, set in the year 3000 on a dying, sand-covered planet, follows Asuka's perilous journey to find water and save her ailing grandmother.
Cho brings significant visual storytelling experience, with previous works recognized at prestigious international film festivals. Her short film 'KANOJO' received six nominations at the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival (TINFF) in 2024, while 'One Sun' secured nominations for Best Cinematography and Best Short Film.
The production features a talented ensemble, including actors Lee Chen and Yazon Angela Lin, and Production Designer Anna Buksowicz, who was recognized by the Academy Gold Rising program. Principal photography is scheduled to begin March 30, 2025.
