Advanced Behavioral Health Expands Mental Health Services to Washington County with New Hagerstown Office

Advanced Behavioral Health, Inc. (ABH) has expanded its mental health services to Washington County with the opening of a new outpatient office in Hagerstown. The office, located at 265 Mill Street, Suite 800, began seeing patients on September 1, 2026, marking the organization's first presence in the county. This move extends ABH's reach to six counties across Maryland, bringing its standard of clinical care to Washington County residents.

The expansion is part of ABH's commitment to meeting clients where they are, according to CEO Vera Kurdian. "Serving families and supporting communities one individual at a time is what we do best," she said. "This expansion allows us to build a collaborative partnership in Washington County, where families can expect high-quality and timely mental health and psychiatric services." Kurdian also highlighted the job opportunities the new office brings for mental health professionals, noting that ABH is as committed to its employees as it is to its patients.

The Hagerstown office will offer a range of services, including onsite and offsite individual and family therapy, school-based therapy, telehealth counseling, and psychiatric evaluation and medication management. Patients and referring providers can contact the office at 301.345.1022. ABH also plans to introduce its Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP) to the Hagerstown office once Maryland's PRP moratorium is lifted, expected in 2027, further expanding the continuum of care available to Washington County residents.

ABH is a multisite outpatient behavioral health organization providing professional mental health services to individuals, youth, and families across Maryland. With locations in Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick, Montgomery, Prince George's, and now Washington Counties, ABH offers a comprehensive range of services, including individual and group therapy, psychiatric evaluation and medication management, telehealth services, youth therapeutic mentoring, and community schools programming. The organization accepts major insurance, Medicaid, and maintains a discounted fee program to ensure no individual is denied access to care due to inability to pay, with eligibility requirements applying.

Recognized as a Top Workplace in 2024, 2025, and 2026, ABH is dedicated to clinical excellence, cultural competency, and expanding access to behavioral health services throughout the state. The opening of the Hagerstown office is a significant step in addressing mental health needs in Washington County, where residents previously may have had to travel to other counties for similar services. By bringing these services closer to home, ABH aims to reduce barriers to care and improve overall mental health outcomes in the community.

The expansion also aligns with broader efforts to address the mental health crisis in Maryland and across the nation, where demand for services continues to outpace supply. By increasing access to timely and high-quality care, ABH is helping to meet this growing need. For more information about ABH and its services, visit abhmaryland.com.
