ADAP Advocacy initiates a national campaign questioning the accountability and transparency of the 340B Drug Pricing Program, drawing parallels to the 2007-2008 financial market collapse.

ADAP Advocacy has launched a national advocacy campaign targeting reforms in the 340B Drug Pricing Program, the second-largest federally sponsored drug program in the United States. The campaign, titled '340B Too Big To Fail', aims to highlight concerns about the program's lack of meaningful accountability and transparency, particularly among large hospital systems.
Brandon M. Macsata, CEO of ADAP Advocacy, compared the current state of the 340B program to the financial market conditions preceding the 2007-2008 economic crisis. The organization is drawing attention to issues such as declining charity care, rising healthcare executive compensation, and increasing patient medical debt.
As part of the campaign, a commercial will air in the Washington, DC metropolitan area while Congress is in session. The advocacy effort is designed to raise awareness and push for common-sense reforms in the drug pricing program.
The campaign will continue through the end of the year, with the goal of prompting a comprehensive review of the 340B Drug Pricing Program's structure and implementation. By highlighting potential systemic issues, ADAP Advocacy seeks to encourage legislative action and greater oversight of the program.
