Andina Copper Reports Near-Surface Porphyry Copper-Molybdenum Discovery in Colombia

Andina Copper Corporation (TSX-V: ANDC | FSE: FIR | OTCQB: PMMCF) has announced outstanding drill intercepts from its Cobrasco Project in Choco, Colombia, further confirming the northwest extension of the Cobrasco Central Cu-Mo porphyry system. The results from drillhole CDH008, which was completed to a depth of 652.25 meters, returned 272 meters at 0.50% copper, 75 ppm molybdenum, and 1.92 g/t silver starting from 52 meters downhole. This interval includes a higher-grade zone of 152 meters at 0.67% copper, 68 ppm molybdenum, and 1.90 g/t silver from 54 meters.

CDH008 was drilled due north from the same platform as previous holes CDH006 and CDH007, testing the northern continuity of the shallow mineralized zone. The mineralization footprint at Cobrasco Central now extends approximately 1,100 meters along strike and 550 meters laterally, remaining open in all directions. Two additional step-out drillholes, CDH009 (completed, assays pending) and CDH010 (in progress), are testing northwest and west-southwest extensions, respectively. Visual logging indicates sulphide mineralization consistent with the broader system in both holes.

Joseph van den Elsen, President and CEO of Andina Copper, stated: “We continue to systematically advance a wide-spaced scout drilling programme, actively testing the limits of the Cobrasco system with wide fans of significant step-out drillholes. The system continues to grow with each successive drillhole, with the mineralization footprint already covering an area of ~1,100m x 550m, and results from CDH009 and CDH010 expected to further extend.”

The geology of CDH008 reveals a leached cap with intense supergene alteration over intermineral rhyolite porphyry, followed by a 30-meter interval with chalcocite coating hypogene sulphides, suggesting incipient secondary copper enrichment. Strong mineralization is associated with potassic and sericite-altered magmatic-hydrothermal breccias, where chalcopyrite occurs as matrix infill and cross-cutting veinlets. Bornite was locally observed, potentially indicating a later higher-sulphidation event.

The company is preparing to mobilize a second diamond drilling rig to support the next phase of definition drilling at Cobrasco Central and test new porphyry centers. Surface geochemistry and field observations strongly suggest mineralization continues to the north and northwest, with further expansion potential pending results from CDH009 and CDH010. Andina Copper remains focused on advancing the Cobrasco Project, which represents a significant porphyry copper-molybdenum discovery along the Andean belt.
