Andrew Kalloch has been announced as the new Oregon State Co-Chair for U.S. Term Limits, a leading grassroots advocacy group focused on implementing term limits at various government levels, particularly in the U.S. Congress. Kalloch, who is known for his extensive experience in both private and public sectors, is expected to play a crucial role in pushing for term limits in Oregon.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Kalloch stated, "I am honored to serve as the Oregon State Co-Chair for U.S. Term Limits. Now more than ever before, the need for term limits is crystal clear. Polls show that one issue that unites all Oregonians regardless of political affiliation is the need for congressional term limits."
Kalloch emphasized that serving in Congress has often become a lifelong entitlement rather than a public service. "Term limits will help improve accountability, diversify Congress, and make government work better for all Americans," he added. He also expressed his eagerness to collaborate with his Co-Chair Alek Skarlatos on this unifying issue.
Philip Blumel, President of U.S. Term Limits, commented on Kalloch's appointment, saying, "We are honored to have Andrew leading our efforts in Oregon along with Alek Skarlatos to pass term limits for Congress. Under their guidance, I am confident we will get our term limits resolution passed in Oregon."
Kalloch is currently the Director of Global Policy Development at Airbnb, a position he has held since 2016. His previous roles include Deputy Policy Director to the NYC Comptroller, where he authored numerous public policy reports, and Staff Attorney at the ACLU of New York, focusing on constitutional litigation in state and federal courts.
Beyond his professional career, Kalloch is deeply involved in civic activities. He is the President of the City Club of Eugene, Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of FOOD for Lane County, and a board member of All Oregon Votes, an organization that advocates for opening Oregon's primary process to unaffiliated voters. In 2022, he was a Democratic candidate for Oregon's 4th Congressional District.
Andrew Kalloch resides in Eugene with his spouse, Jenna Adams-Kalloch, and their three children, who are fifth-generation residents of the Southern Willamette Valley.
The appointment of Kalloch as Oregon State Co-Chair for U.S. Term Limits is seen as a significant step in the broader movement to implement term limits in Congress. With his extensive background and commitment to public service, Kalloch is well-positioned to advocate for this cause and work towards a more accountable and diverse governmental structure.
