Angkor Resources Launches 2,800-Meter Diamond Drill Program at Andong Bor Copper-Gold Target in Cambodia

Angkor Resources Corp. (TSXV: ANK) announced Monday that it has started a 2,800-meter diamond drilling program at its Andong Bor copper-gold target in Cambodia. The program targets the Thmei North copper anomaly, a one-square-kilometer area identified through previous exploration.

The drilling is divided into two phases due to seasonal constraints. The first phase, beginning June 24, 2026, consists of three 400-meter holes totaling 1,200 meters, drilled before the heavy rainy season. The second phase, comprising the remaining 1,600 meters, is planned for early 2027 once fields are dry and crops harvested.

Dennis Ouellette, VP Exploration, explained that the 2025 drilling program revealed the structural orientation of mineralization. “The structures controlling mineralization are north-northwest striking and steeply west dipping, so by drilling to the east we put the core across the mineralized beds rather than down them,” he said. The best copper mineralization occurs in potassic-altered sediments adjacent to feldspar porphyry diorite dikes. Drilling eastward aims to maximize intersections of these favorable rock types.

The Andong Bor license covers 100.28 square kilometers in Oddar Meanchey and Banteay Meanchey provinces. Core from the drilling will be logged, photographed, and sampled, with selected intervals sent for assay.

In addition to the Thmei North target, the company plans further auger soil geochemistry at Thmei South to extend the copper anomaly southward and define its full extent, with future drilling anticipated.

Angkor Resources is a leading resource explorer in Cambodia, holding two mineral exploration licenses with multiple copper and gold prospects. The company also has an onshore oil and gas license (Block VIII) through its subsidiary EnerCam Resources, where it completed 2D-seismic in 2025 and identified multiple drill targets. An Environmental Impact Assessment for drilling has been submitted for approval.

The drilling program is a significant step for Angkor as it advances its copper-gold projects in Cambodia, a country with growing mineral potential. The results could provide valuable data on the规模和 grade of mineralization at Thmei North.
