The Auburn-Davis Center for DBT has announced a significant leadership transition and service expansion, with Tom Harrer assuming the role of CEO on January 1, 2025. With 18 years of clinical experience, Harrer brings deep expertise in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to guide the organization's strategic growth.
The center continues to specialize in comprehensive mental health services for teens, young adults, and families experiencing emotional dysregulation, self-harm, and chronic suicidality. By offering a full continuum of DBT services—including individual therapy, skills groups, phone coaching, and consultation teams—the organization remains committed to evidence-based, compassionate care.
Under Harrer's leadership, the center is strategically expanding its accessibility by developing both in-person and telehealth programs across California. The clinical team comprises seasoned professionals with advanced DBT training, dedicated to delivering culturally responsive mental health interventions.
The expansion comes at a critical time when mental health needs are increasingly complex. By leveraging the gold-standard DBT model developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan, the center aims to provide structured, skills-based therapy that promotes emotional regulation, resilience, and meaningful personal transformation.
The organization continues to cultivate collaborative relationships with school districts, healthcare systems, and community mental health partners, ensuring comprehensive support for high-acuity clients and seamless care transitions.
