The Avon Theatre - Deborah & Chuck Cinema Arts Center in Stamford, Connecticut, has announced the creation of the Louisa S. Greene Education Fund, a new initiative designed to expand the nonprofit theater's educational mission and provide opportunities for the next generation to experience film's transformative power. The fund is being launched with a $50,000 matching gift from Louisa S. Greene, a longtime Avon supporter and former Director of Development. The fund will support educational opportunities for students, young filmmakers, educators, and community members to discover, study, discuss, and create films. This initiative arrives as the Avon prepares for a major transformation: the historic theater is currently undergoing its Avon reCreated renovation and expansion, which will turn the venue into the Avon Theatre – Deborah & Chuck Royce Cinema Arts Center. The new facility is scheduled to reopen in Fall 2027 and will offer expanded opportunities for educational, cultural, and community programming.

Through Avon on Tour, the theater continues to bring films, discussions, and educational programs to venues throughout Stamford and surrounding communities, including Ferguson Library, The Bruce Museum, Darien Library, Mill River Park, Stamford Town Center, and other partner locations.
