B2i Digital Highlights CitroTech's Eco-Friendly Fire Inhibitor Amid Growing Adoption

B2i Digital, Inc. has announced that CitroTech Inc. (NYSE American: CITR) is now a Featured Company on its platform, drawing attention to the specialty chemical firm's environmentally safe fire inhibitor technology and its recent commercial-scale joint venture with Hexion.

CitroTech's fire inhibitor, made from food-grade ingredients like citric acid, is the only long-term fire inhibitor recognized by the EPA under its Safer Choice program. The company holds 31 issued patents with 56 more pending, protecting a formulation that has gained traction in wildfire prevention and wood products markets.

In April 2026, Hexion, a global producer of adhesives and performance materials, formed HexiTech LLC, a 50/50 joint venture with CitroTech to bring its fire-retardant technology to the lumber and engineered wood industry. This move signals a pathway to commercial scale for CitroTech's products.

Independent testing has also validated the product's effectiveness. All Risk Shield, a California firefighter and veteran-owned wildfire defense company, tested leading products on the market and selected CitroTech as its go-to solution, noting it was the only one with no detectable heavy metals above lab reporting limits. In San Diego, the fire marshal reported that the Alvarado Estates community saw roughly 50% fewer fires over about two years of CitroTech treatment.

"What piqued my interest in CitroTech is simple. They built a fire inhibitor that works and that the EPA recognizes as safe for the environment, and no one else can say that," said David Shapiro, CEO of B2i Digital. "When a team of veteran firefighters tests the whole field and still picks your product, that tells you something real."

Wes Bolsen, CEO of CitroTech, commented, "Every market we serve is moving toward safer chemistry, and we have spent years building the products and the credentials to lead it. With the Hexion joint venture underway, this is the right moment to broaden our shareholder base."

B2i Digital, which describes itself as "The Capital Markets Matchmaker," connects investors and companies through digital marketing, live events, and direct meetings, supported by a network of more than 1.7 million market participants. The Featured Company program is designed to put promising companies in front of investors.

For investors, the implications are significant. CitroTech addresses a critical need—wildfire prevention and fire-resistant building materials—with a product that is both effective and environmentally benign. The endorsement from professional firefighters and the joint venture with an industry heavyweight like Hexion suggest growing commercial validation. However, as with any early-stage company, risks remain, and investors are encouraged to review the company's SEC filings.

This announcement underscores a broader industry shift toward safer, sustainable chemistry in fire prevention, with potential impacts on homeowners, the lumber industry, and wildfire management strategies.
