Benestar Brands and Palmex Alimentos have merged to form Monarca Authentic Snacks, a new company poised to transform the Hispanic snacking market. The merger combines two respected industry names with a comprehensive portfolio of consumer and business-to-business snack brands, including Mac's, 4505, and Chicas.
Jose Luis Prado, Chairman and CEO, emphasized the company's strategic vision to become the leading and fastest-growing crispy snacks enterprise in the hemisphere. The merger is particularly timely, given that the Hispanic segment represents the fastest-growing consumer market, with 75% of U.S. consumers seeking new and unique flavors.
The company's name, inspired by the Monarch butterfly, symbolizes its core values of heritage, resilience, transformation, and community. With nine manufacturing plants across the United States and Mexico and distribution in over 17 countries, Monarca Authentic Snacks leverages over 90 years of industry experience.
The merger positions the company to deliver innovative snacking concepts and meet evolving consumer demands. By combining manufacturing capabilities and brand portfolios, Monarca Authentic Snacks aims to expand its market presence and provide authentic Hispanic-inspired snack experiences.
The strategic combination reflects the growing importance of Hispanic consumer markets and the potential for specialized, culturally authentic food products. As the company moves forward, it seeks to blend traditional flavors with innovative manufacturing techniques to capture a significant share of the expanding snack industry.
