The Community Investment Organization CAHEC has appointed Corine Sheridan to its Board of Directors, effective January 1, 2026. Sheridan brings more than 40 years of experience in affordable housing finance and investment, which will provide strategic guidance as CAHEC advances its mission of building stronger communities through affordable housing and supportive services. This appointment is significant because it comes at a time when affordable housing remains a critical issue nationwide, and Sheridan's expertise could influence how capital is directed to communities with the greatest needs.
Sheridan retired in late 2024 after a career focused on expanding access to affordable housing. Most recently, she served as Senior Vice President and Head of Acquisitions at Berkadia from 2021 to 2024, where she led the Tax Credit Syndication team's nationwide strategy. Prior to that, she spent nearly two decades at Boston Capital as Director of Originations from 2003 to 2021, helping to develop and execute the firm's targeted origination strategy. In 2024, she co-founded Sheridan Consulting, a firm that provides financial and organizational expertise to nonprofits, housing authorities, and other affordable housing practitioners, allowing her to continue supporting mission-driven organizations.
Her continued commitment is reflected in her nonprofit leadership, including serving on the boards of the Light House Shelter in Annapolis, Maryland, the Anne Arundel County Affordable Housing Coalition, and the Real Estate Committee of True Ground in Arlington, Virginia. Dana Boole, President & CEO of CAHEC, stated, "Corine is a passionate advocate for affordable housing. Her keen understanding of market dynamics, earned respect among peers, and deep-rooted relationships allow her the opportunity to make a strong impact on what is already a highly engaged CAHEC Board."
CAHEC is a community development organization that strengthens communities by providing affordable housing and supportive service initiatives to residents in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.
