The 2025 CAHEC Awards have recognized outstanding contributions to affordable housing and community development, highlighting projects and individuals that exemplify innovation, dedication, and community impact. Among the awardees, Davis Park Station was named Development of the Year for its 73 affordable housing units and integrated Workforce Training Center, a result of a pioneering public-private partnership with the City of Lexington.
Reacy Lockhart received the CAHEC Values Award for his 16 years of service as Maintenance Lead Technician for the Columbus Housing Authority, overseeing maintenance at two large CAHEC-managed communities with extensive amenities. Goodwill Industries of Kentucky was honored with the Outstanding Community Impact Award for its West Louisville Opportunity Center, a comprehensive social services hub that also spurred the development of the area's first hospital in over 150 years.
Kellie Freeman, a resident of Cornelia Gardens, was spotlighted for her remarkable personal turnaround and active community involvement, illustrating the transformative power of stable, affordable housing. These awards underscore the critical role of innovative housing solutions and community-focused initiatives in addressing societal challenges and improving lives.
