The 10th edition of CENTRESTAGE, Asia's annual fashion extravaganza organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), has opened at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre with record-breaking participation and free admission for both industry professionals and the public from September 3 to 6. This milestone event features over 260 brands from 25 countries and regions, marking the largest and most international edition to date, which reinforces Hong Kong's strategic role as Asia's fashion hub.
Sophia Chong, Deputy Executive Director of the HKTDC, emphasized the event's decade-long commitment to providing a platform for designers from Hong Kong and Asia to showcase their work and exchange ideas. The United Kingdom participates as Partner Country for the first time, presenting 16 British brands including sustainable designer Patrick McDowell, while Thailand brings its largest pavilion ever with more than 40 brands. Other international participants include pavilions from Czechia, Canada, Japan, Australia, Korea, Macao, and the Philippines, with nine countries exhibiting for the first time.
The event serves as a critical platform for industry exchange and discussions on fashion's future development, featuring internationally renowned fashion figures. Internationally acclaimed couturier Guo Pei presented her new couture collection 'Gilternity: An Everlasting Radiance' at CENTRESTAGE ELITES on September 1, marking her first solo couture show in Hong Kong. Legendary fashion figure Professor Jimmy Choo OBE hosted the "Meet the Fashion Legend" session, introducing the JCA - London Fashion Academy and showcasing works by emerging designers. Charles Jeffrey, designer of London label Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY, will discuss his avant-garde creations on September 5.
More than 40 events will take place during the four-day fair, including approximately 30 fashion shows—the highest number in a decade. The Fashion Hong Kong Runway Show, organized by the HKTDC, showcased creative collections from four local brands: ANGUS TSUI, ARTY:ACTIVE, IP AXIS INDUSTRIAL STUDIO and selfFab, marking the 10th anniversary of the Fashion Hong Kong overseas promotion campaign. The event also features multiple cross-regional collaborations such as "GBA Fashion Fusion 2025" and the "Macau Fashion Parade," highlighting CENTRESTAGE's role as an international exchange platform.
The fair introduces six themed zones covering accessories, athleisure, circular fashion, craftsmanship, contemporary design and urban street style. The newly added Accessories zone responds to strong market demand for fashion accessories, while the Circular Fashion zone showcases sustainable design. Some exhibitors offer retail products on site, allowing visitors to purchase directly from brands. Interactive AI experiences and workshops enable visitors to design and create their own fashion accessories, while local fragrance brand CitiScent has developed a bespoke scent specially for CENTRESTAGE.
The grand final of the Hong Kong Young Fashion Designers' Contest (YDC) on September 6 will feature British designer Charles Jeffrey as guest judge, selecting winners in four categories. The contest provides an important platform for nurturing new talent, with the public able to vote online for their favorite collection. The HKTDC continues to invite global buyers from major retailers including Canada's WDLT 117 Apparel Inc, Indonesia's Zalora, Italy's Sugar Srl and Japan's Hankyu Hanshin Department Stores, further enhancing business opportunities for participants.
