CHARBONE Adds Cylinder Filling Unit at Sorel-Tracy to Expand Industrial Gas Offering

CHARBONE CORPORATION (TSXV: CH; OTCQB: CHHYF; FSE: K47) announced on October 21, 2026, the addition of an industrial gas cylinder filling unit at its Sorel-Tracy site. The move marks a further step in the company's development as a vertically integrated industrial gases provider, allowing it to fill hydrogen and helium cylinders directly and to internalize a step previously sourced externally.

The filling unit will primarily serve the Quebec market while supporting business development elsewhere in Canada. Target customers include private companies and distribution partners, including independent distributors, as well as supply needs related to certain government contracts and the defense sector. The company said the new activity aims to support revenue growth, broaden its commercial offering and develop its customer base in Quebec and other Canadian regions. CHARBONE also said the unit provides the ability to expand to other industrial gases and specialized mixtures in the future.

"Our goal is to make Sorel-Tracy a growth engine for CHARBONE," said Dave Gagnon, President and CEO of CHARBONE. "By handling the filling of helium cylinders ourselves, and later industrial gases and specialty mixtures, we are expanding our offering and opening up new opportunities to grow our revenue with a diverse clientele. We are building a Canadian industrial gas group with the ambition of becoming a leading supplier for companies seeking to source their gases from a Canadian partner, reliably."

According to the company, internalizing cylinder filling is expected to support margin improvement and enhance control over product quality and delivery timelines. The initiative further develops CHARBONE beyond hydrogen production, expanding the activities and services offered within its industrial gas platform. Helium, in particular, represents a high-demand industrial gas with constrained supply, making direct cylinder filling a strategically important capability for customers across sectors like semiconductors, aerospace and defense, and advanced manufacturing.

The announcement matters for investors and industrial customers because it signals a shift toward higher-value services and a broader revenue base for a company historically focused on hydrogen production. By capturing the filling step, CHARBONE may improve margins and deepen relationships with industrial, commercial and institutional clients. The company intends to leverage the unit to increase its presence in Quebec and develop business opportunities with Canadian buyers seeking a long-term supply partner.

CHARBONE is scheduled to present at the Emerging Growth Conference on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at 3:10 PM ET, where CFO and Corporate Secretary Benoit Veilleux will provide a recap of recent achievements and the path forward.
