Critical Infrastructure Technologies and Babcock International Partner to Develop Rapidly Deployable Defense Platform for Ukraine
TL;DR
CiTech's partnership with Babcock provides a strategic advantage by scaling Nexus 20 platforms across Ukraine and Eastern Europe, positioning it as a NATO benchmark capability.
The Nexus 20 platform self-deploys from a 20-foot container, adapts to uneven terrain, and integrates 5G communications, ISR, and counter-UAS capabilities for mission-critical operations.
This collaboration enhances security and communication for Ukrainian forces, contributing to a safer region and supporting critical defense capabilities where needed most.

Critical Infrastructure Technologies Ltd. (CSE: CTTT) and Babcock International Group have executed a memorandum of understanding to co-develop and build a rapidly deployable platform for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The agreement, signed at the Defence and Security Equipment International expo in London, focuses on supplying 50 of CiTech's Nexus 20 platforms, which integrate 5G communications, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), and counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) capabilities.
The solution will be delivered in a 20-foot containerized format, transportable by truck, and designed to self-unload and adapt to sloping or uneven terrain. Once deployed, the system will provide 5G communications, counter-UAS, and ISR capability while deploying a 20m cyclone-rated tower to support mission-critical operations. The MOU also includes plans to explore the development of a Nexus 20 assembly hub in Eastern Europe and further opportunities across NATO's Eastern Flank.
Mark Goldsack, Babcock's International Director, stated, "We are steadfast in our commitment to supporting Ukraine and in this new partnership with CiTech, we can deliver a rapidly deployable communications, counter-UAS and ISR capability as well as expanding our Eastern Europe footprint with a dedicated assembly hub." Brenton Scott, CEO of CiTech, added, "As an Australian defence industry SME, partnering with Babcock International unlocks a pathway for the Nexus 20 to be rapidly scaled across Ukraine and Eastern Europe. This isn't a single deployment; it's the beginning of a regional expansion that positions CiTech's Nexus 20 as a benchmark capability across NATO's Eastern Flank."
This partnership is significant as it addresses critical defense needs in Ukraine through advanced, mobile technology that enhances communication resilience and counter-drone capabilities amid ongoing conflicts. The development of an Eastern European assembly hub could streamline production and deployment, potentially strengthening NATO's defensive posture along its eastern borders. For the defense industry, this collaboration between a smaller technology firm and a major international defense company illustrates how innovation can be accelerated through strategic partnerships, potentially setting a precedent for future defense contracts and technology integration in conflict zones.
