The Derick Hall One Percent Foundation has announced its first-ever Community Impact Event, scheduled for Thursday, June 20th, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Centennial Plaza Resort in Gulfport, MS. The event aims to introduce the foundation to the community and highlight its mission to support premature babies and their families, combat food insecurity, and address childhood obesity in underserved areas.
"Every life is precious, and every challenge is a chance to create something extraordinary. This foundation is about more than just overcoming odds—it's about building a community that supports each other and thrives together," said Derick Hall, NFL player and Founder of the Foundation. Hall's journey and achievements despite numerous challenges serve as the inspiration behind the foundation's mission.
The event will feature a series of activities designed to engage and inform attendees. Highlights include a panel discussion with special guests, an introduction to the Board of Directors, and the premiere of "Miracle," a documentary directed by Emmy-nominated Osahon Tongo. Attendees will also have the opportunity to win memorabilia in a raffle and network with community members over food and beverages.
Stacy Gooden-Crandle, Derick's mother and CEO of the Foundation, emphasized the significance of the event. "Derick's drive and accomplishments, despite the odds, are truly motivating. His resilience is powerful, but he believes there is more work to be done," she said.
The event is expected to draw 100 to 150 partners and philanthropic community members, including notable attendees such as Ronnie Brown, NFL player and Financial Advisor, and Osahon Tongo, the award-winning director of "Miracle." Their presence underscores the collaborative effort to advance the foundation's mission and vision.
The Derick Hall One Percent Foundation is committed to making a meaningful impact in the Gulf Coast community. The foundation's initiatives, such as its annual Thanksgiving Food Drive, are designed to give back to the community that raised Hall. This inaugural event is an opportunity for community members to learn more about the foundation's work and how they can contribute to its success.
