Direxion has appointed Mo Sparks as its new Chief Product Officer, positioning the ETF provider to accelerate its product development strategy. Sparks brings over a decade of experience in ETF product management and business growth, with a proven track record of launching and developing ETF businesses.
Prior to joining Direxion, Sparks served as Head of Exchange-Traded Funds at Raymond James Investment Management, where he established the firm's ETF business. He previously worked at the New York Stock Exchange, facilitating the entry of over 125 asset managers into the ETF market, and held strategic product leadership roles at Vanguard.
Direxion CEO Douglas Yones highlighted Sparks' expertise, noting his ability to drive product expansion and foster cross-functional collaboration. Sparks expressed enthusiasm about joining a company known for pioneering derivative-based ETFs, particularly leveraged and inverse ETFs.
With approximately $47.0 billion in assets under management, Direxion aims to strengthen its market position by leveraging Sparks' deep understanding of global capital markets and ETF innovation. His strategic vision includes expanding product education and developing solutions that meet the evolving needs of active traders and investors.
Sparks, who holds a Bachelor of Science in Financial Management from Clemson University and is a Certified ETF Advisor, brings significant industry credibility to his new role. His background in thought leadership and frequent speaking engagements at ETF conferences positions him to drive Direxion's future product strategy.
