Mental health expert Dr. Deborah Villanueva has been selected as the 2025 RISE Health Care Hero, recognizing her extraordinary contributions to improving mental health services for underserved communities. The award, presented at the RISE Summit on Social Determinants of Health, highlights her two decades of pioneering work addressing complex healthcare challenges.
Selected from over 60 nominations, Dr. Villanueva was praised for her innovative approach to mental health care, particularly her work with survivors of trafficking.
