DTLA ArtNight, Downtown Los Angeles's monthly celebration of arts, culture, and community, has announced its largest expansion to date, officially adding the Fashion District to its roster of participating neighborhoods. The move, effective with the August 6, 2026 edition, aims to connect Grand Avenue, the Historic Core, and the Fashion District into one unified cultural experience, according to a press release from the organization.
The expansion is part of DTLA ArtNight's mission to "activate Downtown Los Angeles and showcase everything that makes our city extraordinary," as stated by Michael Angelo DeLance, President of DTLA ArtNight and Happening In DTLA. "Our mission is to connect neighborhoods through arts and culture while inspiring people to discover the creativity, diversity, and energy that make DTLA unlike anywhere else. Expanding into the Fashion District is an exciting next step as we continue building one connected Downtown."
The Fashion District, long known for fashion, design, and entrepreneurship, has evolved into a destination for galleries, artist studios, hospitality, and creative businesses. New partners include the Bendix Building, Kelly O'Brien Atelier × Not For Resale LA, CRE8, Mary at The STILE Hotel, and Zenith Gallery. These venues will offer visitors a glimpse into the district's creative community.
Mary at The STILE Hotel, located inside the historic United Artists Building, joins as one of the district's newest hospitality destinations. "Mary is honored to be part of DTLA ArtNight and to support the continued growth of the Fashion District," a representative said. Kelly O'Brien, founder of Kelly O'Brien Atelier × Not For Resale LA, added, "Joining DTLA ArtNight is an exciting opportunity to welcome visitors into our working studio and share both the creative process and the finished work." CRE8, which has been in the district for four years, sees the partnership as a way to "bring greater awareness, connection, and vibrancy to the neighborhood."
The August edition also introduces new Grand Avenue programming, including a special classical music collaboration between Grand Performances and The Colburn School at Spiral Court at California Plaza on Thursday, August 6 at 6:00 p.m. The program will feature works by composers such as Joseph Bologne, Johann Sebastian Bach, Reena Esmail, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, Erich Wolfgang Korngold, and Astor Piazzolla, performed by Colburn students and alumni. Rafael González, President & CEO of Grand Performances, said, "Great programming should surprise and inspire. Our partnership with The Colburn School brings a new classical music experience to DTLA ArtNight, showcasing extraordinary music that spans cultures, generations, and traditions."
DTLA ArtNight continues its partnerships with major cultural institutions, including The Broad, MOCA, and DATALAND, which joins with its inaugural exhibition, Machine Dreams: Rainforest, described as the world's first omni-sensory AI art experience. Refik Anadol, Co-Founder and Artistic Director of DATALAND, expressed excitement about opening its doors to the public.
The event will also feature a hands-on photography experience hosted by Samy's Camera and Sony Electronics at Emergent Gallery, where participants can borrow Sony cameras and enter a competition with a $2,000 grand prize. The Biltmore Los Angeles will host photographer Andrei Duman's exhibition "The Art of X Rays" with live jazz and cocktails.
This expansion underscores DTLA ArtNight's role in uniting neighborhoods and cultural organizations, reinforcing Downtown Los Angeles as a vibrant, connected creative hub. Additional programming and participants are expected to be announced in the coming days.
