LOS ANGELES — The East Hollywood community came together Tuesday evening at the Church of Scientology Los Angeles to celebrate National Night Out, an annual campaign that unites thousands of communities across the United States to foster stronger neighborhood relationships, promote public safety, and encourage civic engagement.

National Night Out, supported by approximately 16,000 communities nationwide, aims to enhance camaraderie among neighbors and build partnerships between residents and first responders. The event emphasizes community involvement as a key to creating safer, more connected neighborhoods.

The Church of Scientology Los Angeles hosted a family-friendly celebration with activities for all ages, including carnival games, a bouncy house, face painting, popcorn, cotton candy, and a water slide. The event provided an opportunity for families to meet neighbors and strengthen local ties.

The celebration began with the National Anthem and included a special tribute to firefighters from Los Angeles Fire Department Station 35, who received a Certificate of Recognition for their dedication and service to the city's residents.

“National Night Out is a reminder that strong communities are built through cooperation, mutual support and shared responsibility,” said a representative of the Church of Scientology Los Angeles. “Bringing families, neighbors and community organizations together helps create the kind of environment where people feel connected, supported and empowered to improve conditions in their community.”

The event underscored the broader purpose of National Night Out: to build trust, strengthen local relationships, and instill a sense of neighborhood pride. Such gatherings are vital for fostering resilience and social cohesion, which are essential for community well-being.

The Church of Scientology Los Angeles, located at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and L. Ron Hubbard Way, serves as a community hub, hosting events year-round, including Easter, Fourth of July, Halloween, Día de los Muertos, and the Holiday Lights Lighting Ceremony. It also organizes cultural fairs, open houses, and community forums on social issues affecting Los Angeles.

The Church is featured in Inside a Church of Scientology on the Scientology Network, which was launched in 2018 by Mr. David Miscavige to commemorate L. Ron Hubbard's birthday. As an Ideal Scientology Organization, it aims to serve both parishioners and the broader community as a resource for interfaith collaboration.

For upcoming events, the church invites the public to visit its official website or follow its Facebook and Instagram pages.

Events like National Night Out play a crucial role in bridging gaps between residents and public safety officials, ultimately contributing to a more unified and resilient community.
