The American Heart Association, in collaboration with its Center for Health Technology and Innovation, has selected eight startups to participate in the Heart and Brain Health Accelerator. This initiative is designed to foster innovation in medical and digital health technologies that can enhance patient outcomes, reduce healthcare costs, and lower barriers to care, particularly in women's heart and brain health.
Lisa Suennen, managing partner of American Heart Association Ventures, emphasized the critical role of innovation in advancing health outcomes for individuals affected by heart disease and stroke. The selected startups, including Kelvin Health and LightHearted AI Health, are developing solutions ranging from non-invasive diagnostics to AI-driven ECG interpretations, all aimed at addressing specific challenges in women's cardiovascular and brain health.
These companies will benefit from mentorship, funding, and networking opportunities through the MedTech Innovator program, with the chance to compete in the MedTech Innovator Competition Finals in October 2025. The initiative underscores the American Heart Association's commitment to leveraging technology for scalable, accessible, and effective healthcare solutions.
The selection of these startups by a committee of expert volunteers reflects a targeted approach to tackling some of the most pressing issues in women's health, offering hope for groundbreaking advancements in the field.
