Exit Planning Institute Southeast Michigan Chapter to Host 4th Annual Business Owner Forum

The Exit Planning Institute® (EPI) Southeast Michigan Chapter will host its 4th annual Southeast Michigan Business Owner Forum on November 5 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Orchard Lake Country Club, located at 5000 W Shore Dr., West Bloomfield, MI 48324. The half-day event is designed for business owners and focuses on how to grow a stronger, more valuable, and more transferable business.

The forum will feature panels with business owners, TED Talk-inspired sessions, and a fireside chat with an owner who recently exited their business. Attendees will hear firsthand from peers and industry experts about the challenges other owners have faced and the innovative solutions they found. Exit planning professionals, including financial advisors and business consultants, will have opportunities to network with other advisors and entrepreneurs on topics related to exit planning.

This event matters because it addresses a critical need for business owners: preparing for the eventual transition of their companies. Many owners lack a formal exit plan, which can jeopardize the future of their business, their employees, and their financial security. By bringing together owners who have navigated these challenges and advisors who specialize in exit planning, the forum provides practical guidance that can help businesses become more resilient and attractive to buyers. For the wider industry, the event underscores the growing importance of exit planning as a discipline and highlights the role of credentialed advisors in helping owners maximize value.

The Southeast Michigan chapter’s annual forum has become a key gathering for the local business community, offering a space for collaboration and knowledge-sharing. Business owners attending the event can expect to leave with actionable strategies to enhance their company’s value and transferability, whether they plan to exit in the near term or further down the road. Advisors, meanwhile, can deepen their understanding of owner concerns and build relationships that support long-term client success.
