Investing With Purpose™, a faith-driven multifamily real estate firm based in Bluffton, S.C., held its first serve day at Redwood Hollow on Oct. 3, marking the first hands-on community event at the 72-unit property since the firm acquired it in July. Team members, investors, property management, and sponsor partners joined residents to celebrate fall, delivering themed care packages to residents’ doors.
The event is part of the firm’s Purposed Care Initiative (PCI), the framework it uses to care for residents at each of its communities. On-site care coordinators build relationships with residents and connect them with practical and spiritual support. Serve days bring the wider team onto the property to work alongside them.
The firm’s next community effort comes on Saturday, Nov. 7, National Apartment Prayer Walk Day, when local churches adopt apartment communities in their neighborhoods and walk the grounds praying for the people who live there. Care coordinators at Investing With Purpose communities will take part. Team members will also walk communities near their own homes, including properties the firm does not own. The observance is open to anyone, at any apartment community, anywhere in the country. Participants simply choose a community near them and pray for its residents as they walk.
“Buying Redwood Hollow was the start of our responsibility to the people who live there, not the end of a transaction,” said Steven Libman, founder of Investing With Purpose. “A serve day and a prayer walk are simple things, but they tell residents that someone is paying attention to their lives. We would love to see people across the country walk the community down the street from them on Nov. 7 and pray for the families inside.”
The announcement matters because it signals a growing trend in which real estate investors are differentiating themselves through community engagement rather than purely financial returns. For residents, such initiatives can foster a sense of belonging and support, while for investors, they may enhance property stability and tenant satisfaction. The firm’s approach combines institutional-caliber investment management with an intentional values framework, according to its description, and its Purposed Care Initiative is central to that model.
As multifamily housing remains a critical sector for American households, the way owners engage with residents can shape living conditions and community well-being. Investing With Purpose’s serve day and its participation in National Apartment Prayer Walk Day illustrate a hands-on model that other firms may watch closely. The public is invited to join the Nov. 7 observance by walking any apartment community and praying for its residents. More information about the firm is available at iwpurpose.com.
