Greg and Hali Scott have completed an extraordinary skiing journey across Alberta, visiting and skiing all 39 lift-serviced ski areas in the province within an impressive 34-day timeframe. The father-daughter duo, who previously completed a similar tour in British Columbia, are concluding their adventure at Mt. Norquay Ski Resort on Sunday, January 26, 2025.
Their tour, named The Skadi Tour after the Norse mythology goddess of snow and skiing, covered an astounding 8,300 kilometers across Alberta's diverse landscape. The team skied at locations ranging from Hidden Valley in the Cypress Hills to Vista Ridge in Fort McMurray and Blue Ridge Mountain Resort in La Crete.
Beyond the physical challenge, the Scott's journey has a deeper purpose connected to their Tidbits of Change Foundation, which promotes youth and parent/mentor collaborations. Their adventure has garnered significant social media attention, with nearly two million interactions on Instagram, highlighting their unique storytelling approach through segments like 'Chairlift Chatter'.
The tour was made possible through support from sponsors including HEAD skis, Kal-Tire, Descente, Sundance Ski & Snowboard Shop, and Hummingbird Micro Homes. Some sponsors have also contributed additional youth bursaries to the foundation's efforts.
Their achievement underscores the potential for meaningful intergenerational projects that inspire community engagement and showcase the richness of Alberta's skiing landscape.
