In a significant boost for Korean innovation, eight startups presented their cutting-edge technologies to a global audience at the FIX Innovation Awards Media Day on October 22. Organized by Daegu Metropolitan City and EXCO, the event featured companies that had excelled in the inaugural FIX Innovation Awards, chosen from a competitive field of 210 participants.
The selected startups, spanning sectors such as Future Mobility, AI-Big data-Blockchain (ABB), and Robotics, pitched their flagship products to representatives from nine international media outlets. Notable winners included HEI and Korea Metal Silicon in Future Mobility, Phantomics in ABB, and Twinny in Robotics, all recipients of the Best Innovative Technology Award.
This media day serves as a prelude to the upcoming 2024 Future Innovation-tech eXpo (FIX 2024), a comprehensive showcase of groundbreaking technology and products. The exposure gained by these startups is crucial, as it positions them on the global stage, potentially opening doors to international markets and investments.
The event's international scope was evident in the diversity of media representation, with journalists from Japan, China, Vietnam, Finland, India, France, Spain, USA, and Malaysia in attendance. This global coverage offers the participating startups an unprecedented opportunity to gain worldwide recognition and attract potential partners or investors from various markets.
FIX 2024 is set to be a multifaceted event, featuring specialized exhibitions and conferences focused on mobility, robotics, AI, and startups. The expo will include the Daegu International Future Auto & Mobility Expo 2024, showcasing advancements in urban air mobility, autonomous driving, and battery technology. Additionally, the ICT Convergence Expo Korea and the Daegu Robot Expo will highlight innovations in AI, blockchain, and robotics.
The introduction of the "Start-up Arena" at FIX 2024 further underscores the event's commitment to fostering innovation. This new platform will facilitate connections between startups and experts from renowned accelerators like Samsung C-Lab and Plug and Play, potentially catalyzing future collaborations and investments.
As global competition in tech innovation intensifies, events like the FIX Innovation Awards Media Day play a crucial role in showcasing Korean technological prowess. By providing a platform for these startups to present their innovations to a global audience, Korea is asserting its position as a key player in shaping future technologies, particularly in mobility, AI, and robotics sectors.
