Foodies Care to Honor Jacksonville Volunteers at Legacy of Leaders Awards Ceremony

Foodies Care, a nonprofit organization committed to addressing hunger and homelessness in Jacksonville, is set to host the Legacy of Leaders Awards Ceremony on July 30. The event, taking place at the Jacksonville Golf and Country Club, will celebrate the contributions of 12 volunteers, each of whom will see their affiliated nonprofit receive a $1,500 stipend. This initiative represents a total contribution of over $115,000 in monetary donations and marketing grants to the community.

The ceremony is part of Foodies Care's broader effort to combine social engagement with philanthropy through food-centered fundraising events. These gatherings, known as 'friend-raisers,' are designed to foster community involvement while supporting meaningful causes, with participation starting at $25 per month. The awards categories highlight various aspects of volunteer service, including lifetime achievement, community impact, and dedication to human dignity.

Following the awards ceremony, Foodies Care has scheduled a series of events throughout the year, each offering unique culinary experiences to further the organization's mission. Founded by Jacksonville entrepreneur Mike White, Foodies Care has grown from a musical production about homelessness into a vital supporter of local nonprofits, providing both financial aid and marketing assistance to groups like Feeding Northeast Florida and Mission House.
