From Brooklyn Roots to Retail Giants: Mitch Gould's Three-Decade Journey in Consumer Products

Mitch Gould's career in consumer products began not in a boardroom, but around a family table in Brooklyn, where three generations of entrepreneurs discussed manufacturing, distribution, and retail. Three decades later, those early lessons have shaped a career that spans America's largest retailers—including Walmart, Costco, CVS, Walgreens, and Amazon—and collaborations with world-renowned athletes and entertainers such as Wayne Gretzky, Hulk Hogan, and Chuck Norris.

Gould's great-grandfather pioneered closet accessories in Brooklyn, and his grandfather worked in manufacturing and distribution. These experiences instilled principles that Gould says still guide him: relationships matter, reputation is earned, and success comes from consistently delivering results. "I learned retail around the kitchen table long before I ever stepped into a boardroom," Gould said in a press release. "Three generations of my family lived and breathed distribution. Those early lessons became the foundation for everything I've accomplished throughout my career."

As Gould's career expanded beyond New York, he gained firsthand insight into the challenges international brands face when entering the U.S. market. This global perspective led to the creation of the Evolution of Distribution®, a business model that unites product readiness, retail sales, logistics, regulatory guidance, marketing, and public relations into a single, coordinated strategy to simplify market entry for growing brands.

Using this approach, Gould has helped place products with many of America's largest retailers. He also built Amazon's sports nutrition category from the ground up, helping it generate more than $100 million and laying the foundation for one of the platform's most successful health and wellness categories.

Over more than 40 years, Gould's client roster has included sports and entertainment legends such as Jimmy Connors, Hulk Hogan, Chuck Norris, Steven Seagal, Joe Theismann, Steve Garvey, Chuck Liddell, eight-time Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman, Bob Wall, and Roberto Clemente Jr. Today, Gould continues working with emerging companies from around the world, bringing innovative health, wellness, food, beverage, beauty, and consumer products to American retailers and consumers.

Gould's career is chronicled in his memoir, The Blonde, The Ferrari, and The Kwan: A True American Story of Love and Success, which shares the personal experiences and defining moments behind his professional accomplishments. While the book reflects on his journey, Gould believes his greatest opportunities still lie ahead. "Every chapter of my career has built on the one before it," he said. "Markets evolve, technology changes, and retail continues to transform, but integrity, relationships, and delivering results never go out of style."
