Georgia Accounting Food Fight Raises Nearly 1.4 Million Meals for State Food Banks

The Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) and Feeding Georgia have once again demonstrated the power of community collaboration in addressing hunger. The 2024 Georgia Accounting Food Fight, now in its 11th year, has raised an impressive $347,591.16, translating to nearly 1.4 million meals for food banks across the state.

This annual fundraising campaign, which pits accounting professionals against each other in a friendly two-week competition, has become a crucial initiative in restocking Georgia's food banks after the summer surge in demand. Anna Abernathy LLC emerged as the Grand Prize Food Fight Hero, raising $3,390.75 and earning the most points per employee statewide. Nichols, Cauley and Associates claimed the title of Grand Prize Hunger Champion Winner, raising an impressive $51,483.96 with the most statewide points overall.

Boyd Search, CEO of The Georgia Society of CPAs, emphasized the growing success and community impact of the campaign. Since its inception in 2014, the Georgia Accounting Food Fight has raised a cumulative total of $2,507,681.61, equivalent to over 10 million meals for the state's food banks.
