Georgia Accounting Professionals Raise $380,000 in Annual Food Fight Campaign, Providing 1.5 Million Meals

The 2025 Georgia Accounting Food Fight campaign has concluded with remarkable success, raising $380,071.50—the equivalent of nearly 1.5 million meals for food banks across the state. This annual fundraising initiative, now in its 12th year, represents a collaborative effort between Feeding Georgia and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, addressing critical food insecurity issues affecting Georgia residents.

Julie Kuykendall, Executive Director of Feeding Georgia, emphasized the campaign's importance, stating that this tremendous effort will ensure many more families and neighbors across the state receive the nourishing food they need to thrive. The campaign's timing is strategically planned to restock food banks after the summer surge they experience due to the conclusion of the school year and school lunch assistance programs.

During the friendly two-week competition, accounting professionals competed to raise funds for nine food banks across Georgia, with all funds raised by each team staying local and benefiting the food bank that serves its community. Collins/Moody & Company earned the honor of Grand Prize Food Fight Hero by raising $2,100 and earning the most points per employee statewide, while Nichols, Cauley and Associates won the Grand Prize Hunger Champion title by raising $61,140.67 with the most statewide points overall. Boyd Search, CEO of The Georgia Society of CPAs, celebrated the campaign's record-breaking impact, noting that this year was their most successful yet, with CPAs across Georgia raising more than $380,000 to fight hunger. The initiative has now collectively raised $2,926,634.60 since its inception in 2014—equivalent to 11,706,538 meals for the state's food banks. This achievement reflects the generosity and commitment of the accounting profession when united for a shared purpose.

The fundraising efforts directly support Feeding Georgia's mission to provide nutritious meals to those in need and create a hunger-free Georgia. With 1 in 7 Georgians currently experiencing food insecurity—meaning they may not know when their next meal will be—fundraisers like the Georgia Accounting Food Fight are more crucial than ever. The campaign demonstrates how professional organizations can mobilize their members to address pressing social issues, setting an example for other industries to follow in corporate social responsibility and community engagement.
