The legal community and cycling advocates gathered in Decatur to honor the legacy of Kenneth A. Rosskopf, a prominent attorney known for his dedicated representation of injured cyclists and passionate advocacy for the cycling community. The memorial event featured the unveiling of a ghost bike and commemorative plaque at the Hagen Rosskopf law office, symbolizing Rosskopf's lifelong commitment to cyclist safety and legal representation.
Bruce Hagen, lawyer and founder of Hagen Rosskopf, emphasized the firm's commitment to continuing Rosskopf's work. "This event is to honor the life of Ken Rosskopf and the impact that he had on the bicycle community near and far. Ken was always a strong voice for Atlanta cyclists, and we at Hagen Rosskopf intend to continue our legacy of zealous representation of injured cyclists as well as our advocacy efforts to help make Georgia a safer place for cyclists to enjoy riding bikes," Hagen stated during the ceremony.
The event included two organized bike ride routes with bike marshals and on-site repair support, reflecting Rosskopf's personal love for cycling and his professional dedication to the cycling community. Since joining Bike Law USA in 2015, Hagen Rosskopf has become part of a national network of lawyers committed to helping cyclists, representing thousands of cyclists across Atlanta and Georgia.
The firm's specialized practice in representing injured cyclists, established since 1992, has positioned Hagen Rosskopf as the most well-known legal advocate for cyclists statewide. This memorial event underscores the ongoing importance of legal advocacy for cyclist safety and the continued need for improved cycling infrastructure and protections in Georgia.
Rosskopf's legacy extends beyond individual legal representation to broader advocacy efforts aimed at systemic change for cyclist safety. The ghost bike installation serves as both a memorial and a stark reminder of the risks cyclists face on Georgia roads, highlighting the ongoing work needed to protect vulnerable road users.
