Global Peace Summit Marks 10th Anniversary with Over 100,000 Attendees

In a significant gathering for global peace, over 100,000 people convened in Gapyeong-gun, Korea, for the 10th anniversary of the HWPL Peace Summit. The event, hosted by Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), focused on 'Building a Global Community of Peace through Regional Cooperation,' marking a decade of concerted efforts towards international harmony.

HWPL Chairman Man Hee Lee led the summit, which saw participation from notable figures including Great Dharma Master Hyecheon and East Timor's Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Culture, José Honorio da Costa Ferreira Jerónimo. The event highlighted the progress made since the inaugural summit in 2014 and set the stage for future peace initiatives.

A key development announced at the summit was the establishment of partnerships with intergovernmental organizations such as the Group of Seven Plus (G7+) and the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament (PARLATINO). The summit also saw the launch of the nationwide 'Accompany: Connecting Korea' campaign, a continuation of the Saemaul Movement that propelled South Korea's economic development in the late 20th century. This new initiative, supported by over 230 civic organizations, aims to bridge generational, regional, gender, and ideological divides through social solidarity and cooperation.
