Golden Cariboo Discovers Parallel KM Uno Zone at Quesnelle Gold Property, Expanding Potential District-Scale System
TL;DR
Golden Cariboo's Km Uno discovery offers investors exposure to a potential district-scale gold system with parallel mineralized zones enhancing resource expansion opportunities.
The Km Uno zone was identified through bedrock mapping and sampling, correlating with soil anomalies and geophysical features along the argillite-greenstone lithological contact.
This gold discovery could boost local economic development in British Columbia through job creation and sustainable mining practices in the region.
Golden Cariboo found a new mineralized zone with up to 1.1 g/t gold, expanding their gold system near historical placer mining areas.

Golden Cariboo Resources Ltd. has announced the discovery of the KM Uno zone, a mineralized structure parallel to its significant 2024 Halo zone gold-silver discovery at the Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine property near Hixon, British Columbia. This new zone, located approximately 2 km southeast of the Halo zone, represents a potentially cohesive district-scale gold system aligned with historical soil anomalies and geochemical indicators.
The KM Uno zone has yielded initial results of up to 1.1 g/t gold and 8.0 g/t silver from mineralized volcanic subcrop, correlating with strong gold-silver-arsenic soil anomalies and geophysical features visible on the property's 2024 gold MMI soil map. These parallel structures—KM Uno, Halo, and Sunset—align with the argillite-greenstone lithological contact, a key geological feature that controls mineralization and mirrors characteristics seen in major gold-producing districts across the Abitibi Greenstone Belt from Val d'Or to Timmins.
The Halo zone has already demonstrated a 390-metre drilled strike length open for expansion, with key drill holes including discovery hole QGQ24-13, which intersected 1.77 g/t gold over 136.51 meters, and hole QGQ24-20, which returned 0.56 g/t gold over 475.4 meters using PhotonAssay™ technology. The Sunset trend, located 1.4 km west of the Halo zone, also shows promising signs of mineralization, potentially extending toward historical producers like the Hixon Creek Placer.
Golden Cariboo President Frank Callaghan stated that these findings confirm the company's geological model and highlight the potential for multiple mineralized zones across the property. The Spring drill program completed four surface diamond drill holes totaling 638.59 meters, targeting quartz-carbonate vein stockwork along the argillite to greenstone contact. Assay results are pending from ALS Canada, which is nearing completion of PhotonAssay™ analysis.
The company encountered delays due to a lost shipment of drill core and surface exploration samples by the freight carrier, which was recovered after a one-month search. Additional delays resulted from the switch to PhotonAssay™ analysis, a more effective method for assaying coarse gold-bearing samples.
