Golden Cariboo Resources has announced significant progress in its exploration of the Halo zone at the Quesnelle Gold Quartz property, with drill hole QGQ24-21 intersecting multiple occurrences of visible gold starting at 257 meters downhole. This marks the ninth consecutive drill hole to encounter gold mineralization since the initial Halo zone discovery in July 2024.
The newly discovered gold mineralization is embedded in a stockwork of quartz-carbonate-pyrite veins within an altered greenstone package of intermediate to mafic volcanics. Geologically, the mineralization lies in close spatial relation to shear zones, similar to previous successful drill holes in the area.
The current drill hole, positioned at an azimuth of 355° and an inclination of -45°, was strategically designed to intersect veins from multiple directions and lithological contacts. As of April 2025, the drilling continues, with the current depth at 285.3 meters, and the lower boundary of the mineralized zone yet to be determined.
Frank Callaghan, President and CEO of Golden Cariboo Resources, expressed enthusiasm about the ongoing exploration, describing the visible gold strike as an exciting start to the 2025 drilling season. The company anticipates further expansions of the Halo Zone discovery along strike and towards greater depths.
The continued success of these drilling efforts indicates potential significant gold resources in the Quesnelle Gold Quartz property, situated in central British Columbia. Historically, the region has been known for placer gold mining, with over 101 gold creeks recorded in the 90-kilometer trend.
