Goodway Cares Donates Over $27K to Washington D.C. Charities

Goodway Cares, the charitable arm of Goodway Group, has announced donations totaling $27,285 to three local charities following their annual company summit. The funds were distributed to Hero Dogs, An Open Book Foundation, and Together We Bake. This initiative highlights the significant role corporate social responsibility can play in supporting and uplifting communities.

During the summit, Goodway Cares hosted the Circle of Gratitude, an engagement activity where employees expressed their gratitude and voted to support various Washington D.C.-based organizations. The contributions were allocated as follows: Hero Dogs received $10,095, An Open Book Foundation was given $9,095, and Together We Bake was awarded $8,095. The additional $95 in each donation honors Goodway Group's 95-year history.

Nikki Charles, executive director of Hero Dogs, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We’re thrilled to partner with Goodway Cares. With their support, we’re able to give more veterans and first-responders the service dogs they need.”

Hero Dogs, based in Maryland, is dedicated to improving the quality of life for veterans and first-responders by providing them with assistance dogs. An Open Book Foundation connects authors with students in under-resourced schools to foster a love of reading and learning. Together We Bake empowers women facing barriers to employment by offering workforce training and personal development programs.

This donation initiative not only provides financial support to these impactful organizations but also underscores the importance of corporate entities contributing to societal well-being. The contributions from Goodway Cares are a testament to the power of collective effort in addressing community needs and promoting sustainable development.
