Hero Awards Launches AI-Driven Program to Recognize Citizen Contributions to UN Sustainability Goals

The Hero Awards has launched a new initiative that enables citizen activists to gain recognition for their contributions to the United Nations' 17 Sustainability Goals by following a customized progression cycle involving seven artificial intelligence models. According to Sustainability Director Amy Chang, the program addresses the lack of recognition for everyday individuals devoted to planetary improvement by combining AI and human intelligence to evolve solutions for the UN's 169 targets.

The process leverages the strengths of each large language model while minimizing hallucinations, resulting in comprehensive and actionable plans. The proven sequence begins with Meta.ai, followed by Claude.ai, Copilot.microsoft.com, Gemini.google.com, Perplexity.ai, Deepseek.com, and concludes with Chatgpt.com (version 5). Each target is processed through this chain, with outputs refined iteratively to produce robust solutions.

Initial testing involved students from Cambridge, Yale, Berkeley, Princeton, Harvard, Stanford, and Oxford, alongside girls from the Herat Underground School in Afghanistan, which educates those barred from formal schooling by the Taliban. The project, co-created by Friends Beyond Borders, AI Happiness Accelerator, and the World Mind Network, demonstrated that participants who follow the formula are highly likely to win a Hero Award due to the innovative solutions generated.

Beyond the awards, the program has shown significant cognitive benefits for users. Education Director Savithri Machiraju noted that working with the diverse AI personalities enhances problem-solving skills exponentially. In a precursor project, 61 out of 100 participants wrote popular blog posts, 39 published articles, 8 started NGOs or nonprofits, and 5 initiated startups, with similar outcomes anticipated here.

Solutions are archived on The Hero Awards' academia.edu site for ongoing study, and winners are celebrated across media platforms. Notably, awardees can confer the prize onto others who adhere to the protocol. This initiative democratizes efforts toward sustainability and human thriving, fostering a global mindset that change is achievable and rewarding.
