HITN Media Hosts Rita Moreno at Lehman College for Hispanic Heritage Month

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, HITN Media, the leading Spanish-language public media network in the United States, will present a live conversation with entertainment legend Rita Moreno at Lehman College's Lovinger Theatre in the Bronx on October 20th. The event, titled Iconic Dialogues with Rita Moreno, is presented in collaboration with the CUNY Mexican Studies Institute, Feria Internacional del Libro NYC, and Lehman Stages. It reflects HITN's commitment to elevating Hispanic voices and preserving cultural heritage.

Rita Moreno, a Puerto Rican actress, singer, and performer, is one of the most honored artists in entertainment history, having achieved EGOT status with an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. Her career spans more than eight decades, including her acclaimed role in West Side Story. In conversation with Cordelia González, Moreno will explore her career, cultural legacy, and the significance of Hispanic representation in entertainment, arts, and public life.

Michael D. Nieves, president and CEO of HITN Media, said, "We are proud to bring Iconic Dialogues to Lehman College as part of HITN MEDIA's Hispanic Heritage Month celebration. Hosting Rita Moreno, a Puerto Rican living legend at this event reflects our mission to recognize the trailblazers who have expanded what is possible for our communities, bring audiences together to honor our history, affirm our identity and inspire future generations."

The event is open to the public, but advance registration through Eventbrite registration and information is required. Doors will close promptly at 3:45 p.m., and attendees are encouraged to arrive early via the main entrance at Gate 8 on Bedford Park Blvd West.

HITN Media reaches more than 35 million households in the United States and Puerto Rico through major distributors, including DIRECTV, DIRECTV NOW, AT&T U-verse, AT&T TV, AT&T TV Now, DISH Network, Verizon FiOS TV, Comcast Xfinity, Charter Spectrum, Mediacom, CenturyLink Prism, Altice, Liberty Cable, and Claro (Puerto Rico). The network also offers the HITN GO app, available on Apple, Android, Apple TV, and Roku with subscription.

This event is important because it underscores the role of Hispanic media in providing cultural programming and educational opportunities. By partnering with academic institutions like Lehman College, a federally designated Hispanic-Serving Institution, and cultural organizations such as FILNYC, HITN fosters dialogue on representation and heritage, impacting audiences and the media landscape.
