Hong Kong Tech Companies Target Middle East AI Market at GITEX Global 2025

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) are collaborating to present two Hong Kong Tech Pavilions at GITEX Global 2025 in Dubai from October 13-17, featuring 22 exhibitors showcasing cutting-edge artificial intelligence, robotics, IoT and greentech solutions. This strategic move comes as Middle Eastern countries actively develop their AI capabilities, leveraging unique advantages in low-cost energy and capital strength, creating significant opportunities for international technology partnerships.

Daniel Lam, Regional Director of the Middle East and Africa for HKTDC, emphasized the strategic importance of this initiative. "Middle Eastern countries have been actively developing on the AI front in recent years, leveraging their unique advantages in low-cost energy and capital strength. The Hong Kong Tech Pavilions at GITEX Global in Dubai will connect promising Hong Kong I&T enterprises with partners in the Middle East and beyond," Lam stated. This collaboration not only helps Hong Kong companies expand into international innovation markets but also attracts Middle Eastern and global investors to use Hong Kong as a gateway to China and the wider Asia region.

The timing aligns with Hong Kong SAR Chief Executive John Lee's recent Policy Address, which highlighted the government's commitment to promoting AI and data science industries, recognizing AI as the key driving force of the next wave of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation. Hong Kong's advantages in scientific research, capital, data and talent position it to become a global hub for AI development, supported by InvestHK's 2024 Startup Survey showing the number of start-ups has surged to nearly 4,700, underscoring the ecosystem's vitality.

Exhibitors at the Hong Kong Tech Pavilions demonstrate the breadth of AI applications across various sectors. The HKSAR Environmental Protection Department is showcasing AI applications for environmental assessment and planning, including the AI Environmental Air Nuisance Investigation Robot Dog, Hong Kong environmental data repository development, and AI systems for monitoring noise and wastewater. TradeMonday offers a vertical GenAI SaaS platform that automates retail analytics and workflows, transforming data into profit-driving decisions with pre-trained AI agents, backed by venture capital funds from Hong Kong, Turkiye and the US.

Chain Technology Development Co. Limited presents its award-winning Digital Twin solution that integrates AI, IoT data and spatial intelligence to address needs in architecture, engineering, construction and operation industries, contributing to smarter, safer and more sustainable smart city development. Man Yue Electronics Company Limited participates as a manufacturer and supplier of high-quality electronic components emphasizing sustainability and carbon neutrality.

Beyond the main GITEX Global exhibition, HKSTP will lead another pavilion at Expand North Star at Dubai Harbour on October 12-15, showcasing innovative solutions from 10 park companies. Participating start-ups will also compete in the Supernova Challenge pitching competition, while The Hong Kong Polytechnic University will showcase its technological achievements and business solutions. The HKTDC will host a networking dinner on October 14 with the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Dubai, expecting around 80 industry representatives from local and international sectors, plus 12 on-site pitching sessions where companies present innovative solutions to investors, businesses and government agencies.
