The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) are leading 21 Hong Kong technology companies and institutions to exhibit at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 and make their debut at the startup-focused 4 Years From Now (4YFN) 2026 event in Barcelona from March 2-5. This dual presence aims to provide a comprehensive display of Hong Kong's innovation and technology capabilities to global telecom leaders, enterprise decision-makers, industry partners, and investors.
The delegation builds on momentum from MWC 2025 and will feature solutions across multiple categories including Devices and Systems, Digital Transformation, and Connectivity, with support from Ecosystem Partners. According to Iris Wong, Director of Merchandise Trade and Innovation at HKTDC, "The Hong Kong Tech Pavilion is an ideal platform for Hong Kong tech enterprises to present their latest R&D achievements at major international tech gatherings, support their journey to explore overseas markets, while highlighting Hong Kong's strengths as an international innovation and technology hub."
Derek Chim, Head of Startup Ecosystem and Development at HKSTP, emphasized that "MWC is a global bellwether for communications technology and tech companies at any stage, to connect with the industry and investors, to have a solid ground that validate solutions, catalyse pilot projects, accelerate commercialisation, and scale internationally." The events will include networking receptions, themed talks, and pitching sessions to facilitate partnerships and investment opportunities for market-ready solutions.
Two companies exemplify the delegation's diverse offerings. Shannon & Turing Technology Limited (Asmote), exhibiting at MWC, specializes in mmWave technology for Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) with applications in drone communications and control, smart ports, and dark factories. The company previously secured the world's first 26GHz mmWave 5G commercial communications project. Cresento Limited, located at 4YFN, is developing an AI-powered shin guard that delivers real-time performance analytics for football players and is moving from prototypes to pilot collaborations with European football clubs and academies.
The collaboration between HKTDC and HKSTP aims to support Hong Kong tech enterprises in "going global" by building bridges linking tech companies with international markets. This initiative is expected to accelerate the industry's internationalization, attract talent, facilitate forward-looking investments, and explore global opportunities. The Hong Kong Tech Pavilion will be located at Booth 6E44 in Hall 6 at MWC and Booth 8.1B31 in Hall 8.1 at 4YFN, both at Fira Gran Via in Barcelona. The delegation's participation underscores Hong Kong's strategic push to establish itself as a significant player in the global technology landscape, particularly in emerging areas like 5G/6G communications, AI integration, and smart technologies across various industries.
