Horning Manufacturing Launches the Shredder Mill 2800

Horning Manufacturing, known for its quality agricultural equipment, has unveiled the Shredder Mill 2800, its most efficient corn processing solution to date. The new machine integrates milling and bagging processes, eliminating the need for separate equipment and the challenges of maintaining their alignment.

Building on the success of the 340 model, the Shredder Mill 2800 allows farmers to process and bag high-moisture corn at a rate of up to 2,300 bushels per hour. "With tractors getting bigger, farmers needed milling equipment that could keep up with demand," said Leon Horning.

The machine is PTO-driven but features its own hydraulic and braking system, simplifying connections and reducing the load on the tractor. Its 300-horsepower, easy-access belt system drives a fuel-saving, on-demand hydraulic pump, while integral disc brakes ensure consistently packed bags.

The updated intake hopper reduces spillage during transfer from trucks or wagons. Additionally, the auger can now be used on either side of the machine, facilitating easier unloading. Special features of the Shredder Mill 2800 include a sample inspection drawer, one-man hoop changes, single-wrench roll adjustments, and an easy-access cleanout compartment. An optional inoculation system is also available.

As agriculture evolves, Horning's new shredder mill aims to simplify harvest while meeting higher volume needs. This model marks the first in their 2800 series, with blower and auger-out models expected soon.
