The Japan-America Society of Dallas/Fort Worth (JASDFW) hosted a well-attended seminar on February 12 that brought together business leaders to examine economic trends and investment strategies between Japan and the United States. The event, held at The Bonadio Group in Dallas, featured senior executives from financial, real estate, and advisory firms who provided insights into the economic landscape for 2026.
George Goncalves, Managing Director at MUFG (Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group), presented a comprehensive outlook on the U.S. economy, including analysis of the evolving K-shaped economy and interest rate implications. Seiji Ohtomo, Senior Vice President at Taisei Corporation USA, shared perspectives on Japanese real estate development and overseas investment trends based on nearly two decades of global experience.
The discussion, moderated by Josh Whitworth, Tax Partner at The Bonadio Group, included additional perspectives from Richard Bigham, Assurance Partner, and Jay Jerose, Advisory and Consulting Partner. The panel addressed critical topics including M&A activity, tariffs, tax planning, and strategic considerations affecting Japanese and American companies operating across borders.
Lawrence P. Howorth, Chair of the Board of Directors at JASDFW, emphasized the importance of such discussions, stating that programs like this highlight the value of relationship-building between Japan and U.S. business communities. The event reached full capacity, demonstrating strong interest from the North Texas business community in understanding cross-border economic dynamics.
This seminar is part of JASDFW's ongoing commitment to strengthening U.S.-Japan relations through business education and professional engagement. The organization continues to provide platforms for meaningful dialogue that delivers both practical insight and lasting connections between business communities.
