KAP AG Appoints Ralph Rumberg as Chief Transformation Officer to Accelerate Corporate Restructuring

The Supervisory Board of KAP AG has appointed Ralph Rumberg to the company's Management Board as Chief Transformation Officer for a twelve-month term. This strategic move aims to strengthen the group's competitiveness in a dynamically changing market environment and increase the speed of implementation of the company's transformation initiatives.

Rumberg's primary responsibilities will include accelerating the improvement of operating performance across KAP's portfolio companies and developing a future concept that delivers sustained profitability. The appointment expands the Management Board to four members, joining current members Marten Julius, Thorsten Diel, and Stefan Deller, whose temporary appointments will end as scheduled on October 9, 2025.

Christian Schmitz, Chairman of KAP AG's Supervisory Board, stated that Rumberg brings a proven track record in developing and implementing sustainable transformation and strategy programs for industrial holding companies. The board expressed confidence that his expertise will provide new momentum for the company.

Marten Julius, Spokesman of the Management Board, highlighted that the company has already made progress in recent months with portfolio optimization, including streamlining processes, adapting structures, and capturing synergies. Rumberg's appointment adds recognized expertise in industrial sector transformations to further accelerate this process.

Rumberg brings extensive experience from previous roles at BMW Motorsport, AMG Mercedes-Benz, Bosch Rexroth, and KOKI Technik. Most recently, he served as CEO of GESCO SE for six years, where he successfully restructured the company's investment portfolio, reduced dependence on the automotive sector, and implemented a comprehensive strategy program.

In his new role, Rumberg expressed enthusiasm for working with the team to optimally develop KAP AG, drawing on his experience from various transformation processes. The appointment reflects KAP AG's commitment to active investment management and continuous portfolio optimization while preserving the individual strengths and market identities of its operating companies.

KAP AG, listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, focuses on upper mid-size operating companies across three core segments: flexible films, engineered products, and surface technologies. The company employs approximately 1,600 people across 19 locations in ten countries. The transformation initiative comes as industrial holding companies face increasing pressure to adapt to rapidly changing market conditions and optimize operational performance.
