Kelley | Uustal Names Manny Serra as Managing Partner to Lead Technology Integration in Trial Law

Kelley | Uustal has appointed Manny Serra as managing partner, positioning the nationally recognized plaintiff trial firm to integrate advanced technology while maintaining its commitment to securing life-changing outcomes for clients. Founder John Uustal explained that Serra's appointment ensures the firm's track record of precedent-setting verdicts will be supported by modern leadership and infrastructure at the highest level of trial law.

Serra brings extensive litigation experience to his new role, having handled more than 1,500 cases and conducted over 30 jury trials. His legal career began at the Broward County Public Defender's Office, where he earned the nickname "Motion Manny" from judges for his rigorous approach to legal procedures. His perspective on justice was shaped by witnessing how large insurance companies systematically underpaid claims and treated individuals as case files rather than human beings during his work in first-party property litigation.

"People who find themselves in our legal system deserve no stone left unturned in the quest for justice. There are no shortcuts," Serra stated, emphasizing his conviction that drives his approach to client-centered representation. This philosophy has led him to focus on delivering personalized justice through technology integration, including teaching other attorneys how to implement artificial intelligence in practice management and law firm operations.

Serra's vision for technology in legal practice centers on humanizing the client experience rather than replacing human interaction. "Tech is not about taking people out of the picture; it's about centering the person. I believe the best way to humanize the practice of law is to systematize it for the client's best interest," he explained. This approach represents a significant shift in how plaintiff firms can leverage technology to improve client outcomes while maintaining the personal attention that complex litigation demands.

In his new position, Serra will oversee the systems and innovation that sustain the firm's success while allowing the legal team to focus entirely on achieving extraordinary results for clients nationwide. "Kelley | Uustal is a place where the highest level of trial advocacy meets an uncompromising commitment to justice," Serra noted about the firm's culture and mission.

Prior to joining Kelley | Uustal, Serra served as managing partner of a Fort Lauderdale-based trial firm. His educational background includes a law degree from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law, where he participated in the Law Review and Moot Court Society. His professional recognition includes selection to the National Trial Lawyers Association's Top 40 Trial Lawyers Under 40, Florida Super Lawyers, Lawyers of Distinction, and the National Association of Distinguished Counsel.
