Ladybug Resource Group, Inc. (OTC: LBRG) is conducting an early-stage feasibility study to determine whether to expand its precision manufacturing operations into components for AI infrastructure and robotics, the company announced on October 12, 2026. The study, first outlined in the company's September 30 strategic roadmap, will assess demand, technical capabilities, capacity needs, and capital requirements for serving these fast-growing markets.
The evaluation is not a decision, and management emphasized that scope, timing, and outcomes are subject to change. No commitment to build, acquire, or lease any facility has been made. The company's manufacturing arm, Guangzhou Jingdiao Automotive Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (Jingdiao), currently focuses on automotive applications such as precision laser cutting, large-format CNC machining, and Body-in-White integration. Management aims to diversify revenue across end markets and geographies, and the study will explore whether Jingdiao's capabilities can be adapted to meet the stringent requirements of AI data center infrastructure and robotics customers.
Specifically, the study will examine market demand, qualification standards, technical fit, and whether existing capacity can serve these markets or if new facilities would be needed. It will also evaluate regional economics for potential locations in North America and Southeast Asia, including labor, utilities, logistics, and real estate costs, as well as trade, tariff, export control, and regulatory considerations. Capital requirements, funding alternatives, and digital integration through Jingdiao's manufacturing execution system and Smart Supply Chain Hub are also under review.
"At JingDiao, we have purposefully developed our roadmap with the full intention of responding to global market conditions and demands to create changes meaningful to our customers, investors, and shareholders," said Mr. Shicai Li, CEO of the manufacturing division.
The study is being conducted with the support of an independent third-party advisory firm previously engaged for the company's M&A program. Findings are expected to be presented to the Board of Directors by March 2027, after which the Board will decide whether to proceed, modify the scope, or abandon the initiative. Only if the Board approves would the company move to site selection and detailed planning, subject to permitting and financing.
This news matters because it signals a potential strategic shift for Ladybug Resource Group, a US-listed company focused on advanced manufacturing and industrial AI. If successful, the expansion could open new revenue streams in high-growth sectors and reduce reliance on the automotive market. However, the company has cautioned that any new capacity would require significant capital. It has held preliminary, non-binding discussions with private investment firms regarding long-term financing, but no agreements have been reached. There is no assurance that financing will be completed on favorable terms or at all.
