LaFleur Minerals Inc. has begun the permitting process for a 100,000-tonne surface bulk sample from its Swanson Gold Deposit, located in Quebec's Abitibi Gold Belt. The company plans to process the mineralized material at its fully permitted Beacon Gold Mill, situated 50 kilometers from the deposit site.
The strategic initiative aims to evaluate the project's viability through a comprehensive scoping study, with potential implications for future gold production. Currently, the Swanson Gold Project hosts an indicated resource of 123,400 ounces of gold and an inferred resource of 64,500 ounces of gold.
LaFleur Minerals' approach reflects a pragmatic strategy to generate near-term cash flow while simultaneously advancing exploration efforts. The company has targeted mill restart and initial gold production by the end of 2025, positioning itself to capitalize on the project's potential.
The Swanson Gold Project spans over 16,000 hectares and includes multiple gold and critical metal prospects. Its accessibility via road and an existing rail line enhances the project's development potential, providing direct access to nearby gold mills.
The Beacon Gold Mill, fully owned by LaFleur Minerals, is capable of processing over 750 tonnes of ore daily. This infrastructure represents a significant asset in the company's strategy to develop and monetize its gold resources efficiently.
